Most digestive issues seem to happen in the Large intestine, so I think if you ate food that digested food mainly in the stomach and small intestine then you would be less likley to suffer from digestive diseases like IBS.
Whilst I am a member of the brotherhood of the bald, I do have hair and whilst I cannot claim any has grown back I can definitely state that the hair I do have grows quicker.

If UC is mainly a problem in the large intestine, then I would want to eat as much food as possible that digests in the stomach and small intestine.
It may seem counterintuitive to some people but to prevent stomach acid problems you should eat more meat and less plant-based food, this strengthens the acidity of your stomach, the acids kills what it should, no bacteria, no excess gases, and no acid then gets into your throat. You actually need more and stronger stomach acid, not less if you want to heal.
