Interview with Kristina
I’m Kristina Lynn and I am a stay at home mom. I love the outdoors, hunting, horse back riding and camping.
How did you eat before Carnivore.
I have been Keto off and on for the past 5 years
Why did you try Carnivore to begin with.
As a Mom of two young kids it’s very important to me to feel my best. I was struggling to lose the last of my baby weight and I started hearing more about The Carnivore lifestyle. I loved the simplicity of it and all the benefits I was hearing such as, less inflammation, increased energy, better sleep Etc. We are avid hunters in Wyoming and harvest our meat each year such as Deer, Antelope and Elk. The only thing holding me back from jumping all in was I was still breastfeeding my son at the time. That’s when I heard about Kelly Hogan’s story on My Zero Carb life and how she had three pregnancies and successfully breastfed all while eating carnivore. I talked with my husband and he told me to go for for it! So I did.
4) How do you personally approach the Carnivore Diet.
I did a 40 days Strict Carnivore. I started April 21st and did a trial run until May when I started Dr. Bakers #meatymay challenge.
During that I only consumed meat, a little cheese, coffee and heavy cream. I still use this as my base approach but do have some chocolate or wine occasionally. I’m from the south too so when I go back home my momma likes to feed ya so did eat more Ketovore while visiting my family. I personally don’t have many adverse reactions when eating whole Keto foods so I can loosen up once in awhile. But to feel my absolute best sticking to strict carnivore is what works best for me. My husband has also since started carnivore and is doing AMAZING On it! We also feed our kids carnivore 80% or more of the time and they are 1.5 and almost 4.
5) What benefits have you seen since starting the Carnivore Diet.
I sleep Soooo good while eating this way! I have way more energy, less inflammation, and a healthy BMI. Also like I mentioned before, I was breastfeeding when I started carnivore and I had absolutely zero issues breastfeeding and I felt satiated which can be hard for breastfeeding moms.
6) What negatives have you found with the Carnivore Diet.
Zero negatives that I can think of. Not one thing comes to mind.
7) Do you exercise on the Carnivore Diet, if so how do you find it and what do you do.
Yes. My husband has gotten me into weight lifting and rowing. I’ve taken a little break through the summer here but am looking forward to getting back into my routine.
8) What piece of advice would you give someone who is interested in trying this diet, but hasn’t taken the leap yet.
Go for it! Learn as much as you can so that you can confidently dive in! I love Dr. Bakers Book “The Carnivore Diet” and Craig and Maria Emmerich’s book “The Carnivore Cookbook” and Kelly Hogan’s YouTube channel “My Zero Carb Life”
9) Do you think Carnivore will ever be accepted as a mainstream diet.
I do. But it will also be widely unaccepted at the same time. I think whenever people seen what they deem as “extremely” you’ll have people who accepted it and you’ll have people who oppose it. But it crazy to me how even in this last year it’s already gained so much traction.
