The Wall is an Ultramarathon. 69 miles from Carlisle to Gateshead, UK. Race is June 2021.
The training continues.
I did this week a bit differently due to a couple of time reasons. So instead of doing my mileage over 4 runs… 3 short ones and 1 long one. This week I spread it out a bit more evenly over 6 runs. I did 5 * 4 milers and 1 * 10k. I need to not only increase mileage but also increase volume and the amount of days I run during this training. So this was a nice little test.
I did it fairly easily to be fair. I ran a 50/50 split of roads and trails, and felt fine. A month or so ago I was having issues with the muscle down the right side of my right shin. So too run 6 days in a row without any issues was a good morale boost. I can’t prove it but I think the biggest help on getting over the muscle issue was that I started using the sonic muscle gun.
