Carnivore Diet success stories – with Petrit

Interview with Petrit

1) Introduce Yourself.

My name is Petrit Kotarja, aka crnvr_daddy on Instagram. I’m a husband, father of one, business owner and Health/fitness enthusiast. Before my carnivore journey I always ate “healthy” I mean once i was of the age to make my own dietary choices.

2) How did you eat before Carnivore.

I started at a young age reading fitness magazines and following their advice of a low fat , high carb diet high protein diet.  I was young and very active so i didn’t notice the ill effects of this insulin roller coaster, eating every two hours to keep the “furnace burning.” Until I look back at all the acne I had and swollen face despite my low body fat%. Then at around 30 years of age I found this thing called the Paleo diet. I thought it was crazy. “No grains” I thought, but I tried it. It changed my life and perspective on health. Shortly after I stumbled upon the Keto diet, once again I thought it to be crazy because of all the high fat foods people were eating. “what about their hearts”. I tried it and got even better results. I never chased ketones, never even tested , just cut carbs and ate a high fat high protein version. Which naturally tranistioned me into the Carnivore way of eating in Jan. 2019

3) Why did you try Carnivore to begin with.

I heard this doctor talking about the Carnivore Diet on the Joe Rogan podcast. An all meat animal based diet and again i thought he was crazy ( what a trend). I decided to try it seeing as I wasn’t too far off at this point. So I dove deep in research, listening to the top docs on podcasts and haven’t looked back since.

4) How do you personally approach the Carnivore Diet.

Now I don’t call myself a 100% carnivore. I do enjoy a snack here and there (some of my sons left over berries or popcorn) or a few drinks with friends and my wife. I would say I eat 95% animal based .

5) What benefits have you seen since starting the Carnivore Diet.

Things I’ve noticed since being carnivore is no inflammation, more energy, better mental clarity, less need for caffeine (I drink decaf mushroom coffee) and better body composition. but the biggest thing I’ve noticed and the one I’m most happiest/proud of is my craving/need for alcohol is gone. I used to be a big drinker, like 24 beers in a weekend type of drinker. Having or needing 2-3 cans a day after work. Now, no urges after work. no weekend heavy binges which would take me a few days to recover from. I do still enjoy a few drinks on the weekend or special occasion but I can easily stop after a couple because my body tells me I’ve had enough. I find this pretty amazing.

6) What negatives have you found with the Carnivore Diet.

I don’t really notice many negatives or disadvantages being on the carnivore diet. Maybe the reactions when I order a burger with just cheese and bacon. or opting out of certain foods when I’m a guest. most people around me are okay with it by now.

7) Do you exercise on the Carnivore Diet, if so how do you find it and what do you do.

I exercise regularly and don’t notice much difference from when I ate high carb. I play hockey and still maintain my burst and stamina.

8) What piece of advice would you give someone who is interested in trying this diet, but hasn’t taken the leap yet.

I usually don’t recommend the carnivore diet to everyone, or at least right off the bat. Not because I don’t believe in it but because they don’t. Not everyone wants to eat just meat and eggs everyday and that’s fine. I can still help them with foods they enjoy so long as they are not damaging them. I would usually slowly transition someone into this way of eating, the way I did. Some people can go all in right away, if that’s your personality then i say do it!

9) Do you think Carnivore will ever be accepted as a mainstream diet.

I feel like more and more people will start accepting this way of life, as the more people benefit it will be harder to deny.  That’s why I’ve created my platform, creating content on the regular and that’s why I’m working on some new and exciting things to come in the near future. To help people realise their potential. To help people realize there’s other options and to help people realize it’s easier than they think.

10) Anything you would like to add, and where can people follow you.

Once again I don’t think we need to feed the world like this, but it wouldn’t hurt 😉
