Interview with Erik
Introduce Yourself.
Hi, My name Is Erik, I’m 28 years old, living in Montreal, Canada, a proud father of 2. I’m honored to share my carnivore success story. I’m hoping it will inspire somebody else to give a shot to the diet, it transformed my life for the best. I’m so grateful for the amazing discovery.
How did you eat before Carnivore.
Since I was a kid I had bad eating habits, I would eat as fast as I can…. and then I would fill up my bowls and plates again until I got full to the max. My whole life I struggled loosing fat, I clearly had an eating disorder. I was eating terrible I would indulge food until I was full with 3 meals a day and some snacking in between. 80% of my food came from carbs, like pasta, bread, sweets, cereals, all the good stuff lol. You can see how I had no control, those food can be quite the addictive type. I had a weird addiction with food. At the same time I’ve always wanted to be in shape. I thought gym was the answer but no. I was out of hope since going to gym 6 days week didn’t help with loosing that unwanted extra weight. I would weight 190lb when I should’ve weighted 160Lb. I’ve achieved that goal when I incorporated fasting with keto. Finally!!
Why did you try Carnivore to begin with.
I was reading some strange positive anecdotes online from other people’s stories with the diet, it got me curious.
How do you personally approach the Carnivore Diet.
In the beginning of 2019 I started experimenting fasting then keto for 6 months, I started noticing some type of improvements in my physical and mental being. Then I heard about carnivore online. Many who did it, were doing keto right before. I was skeptical for a month or so, I had some type of fear making the leap into the diet, because of all the negative studies on meat etc. But all the stories I was reading online were just too good to be true. So i decided to give it a shot for 1 week only, and I waow I haven’t turned back since then!
What benefits have you seen since starting the Carnivore Diet.
On the first week I had tremendous amount of energy and mind clarity, better sleep. I would wake up in the morning ready to go, no more slow mornings. That is extremely fun just waking up like that, instantly with high energy. I got better control at my food cravings, they were at the lowest. It would force me to never over eat, very hard to do with meat. I would stay full for hours, the OMADs were easily done with a 24 hours fast. My body fat and body weight stabilized after dropping 30Lb total from the keto and fasting. My muscles mass increased, they would be more visible. But My favorite benefit of it all, is my confidence and self esteem that skyrocketed. I’m able to communicate better with people. I can handle people and situations effectively when needed, It’s a great advantage when you work in a customer service environment. I did not expect that at all, it was a shocking surprise. I’m very glad I acquired that skill naturally. My level of joy would spike from time to time in some part of the day, at that point. I could understand why anyone who suffers from anxiety or depression can benefit from the carnivore diet, it’s a tremendous positive life changing advantage.
What negatives have you found with the Carnivore Diet.
I would experience, some low energy days, headaches and thirst. I had diarrhea that lasted for 1 week. All of that were gone after the second month.
Do you exercise on the Carnivore Diet, if so how do you find it and what do you do.
Yes, I couldn’t be more happy working on my bodybuilding goals with this diet. I feel like I have won the jackpot with this way of eating, it revolutionized the whole thing. First it gave me the right levels of energy and performance to complete a good quality workout. I lift 3 times a week, almost no cardio, my recovery and muscle growth is phenomenal. I was struggling for years trying to sculpt my body, that’s a problem anymore.
What piece of advice would you give someone who is interested in trying this diet, but hasn’t taken the leap yet.
Just do it, and stick with it despite of the negative effects. You will be glad you’ve made the leap after 2 months of adaptations. The body is just learning and reprogramming its metabolism, going back to our ancestral ways. Your body will definitely thank you for it. You won’t regret it.
Do you think Carnivore will ever be accepted as a mainstream diet.
I don’t think so because the mainstream sells information for the pharmaceutical and corporations to make a profit only, therefore there’s no money to be made with healthy individuals. It took me time to reflect on that, not easy to accept that fact also.
Anything you would like to add, and where can people follow you.
I want to say that if you don’t try anything new, you would never know the positive outcome or the negatives. but it’s truly worth it when you are seeing the benefits, if not, you can always go back, you’ve got nothing to lose. Experimenting and learning is the way to go when you want to approach new things. You can find me on Instagram if you are interested in my progress and journey with the carnivore diet.
