Lisa Alex Gray’s Transformative Journey: Embracing the Carnivore Diet for Health and Vitality

Deep dive into an old success story: Updated December 2023

Introduction

At 54, Lisa Alex Gray is a vivid testament to the transformative power of the carnivore diet. After a year of dedicated adherence, her journey from a decade-long paleo lifestyle to the strict regimen of the carnivore diet unfolds a tale of remarkable health rejuvenation and vitality. Prior to her switch, Lisa grappled with an array of health challenges, ranging from persistent stomach ulcers and digestive issues to debilitating allergies and fluctuating energy levels. Her transition was sparked by her son’s recommendation, inspired by Dr. Shawn Baker’s insights on the Joe Rogan show.

Lisa’s approach to the carnivore diet is disciplined yet diverse, primarily focusing on beef, salmon, and select dairy products, while meticulously avoiding oxalates and sugars. This dietary overhaul led to astonishing improvements: complete alleviation of allergies, healing of stomach ulcers, reversal of recurring frozen shoulder, and a significant boost in energy levels. Her experience is a beacon of hope and a powerful example of how dietary choices can profoundly impact our well-being. In this blog post, we delve into Lisa Alex Gray’s inspiring carnivore diet journey, exploring the profound benefits and insights gained from this radical nutritional shift.

Lisa Alex Gray’s Carnivore Diet Success Story

Lisa Alex Gray’s transition to the carnivore diet marks a significant chapter in her health journey. Having previously followed a paleo diet, her switch was motivated by a series of unresolved health issues. Despite a healthy lifestyle, she faced a lifelong struggle with stomach ulcers, digestive problems, allergies, episodes of frozen shoulder, and intermittent fatigue. The catalyst for change came from her son, who introduced her to the carnivore diet concept through Dr. Shawn Baker’s appearance on the Joe Rogan show.

Embracing the carnivore diet, Lisa’s daily menu primarily consists of beef, salmon, liver sausage, hard cheese, and occasionally, Zevia drinks. She strictly avoids oxalates, a shift that significantly improved her health. Remarkably, the diet led to the complete resolution of her allergies, healing of stomach ulcers, and prevention of a third frozen shoulder episode. Her digestive health improved dramatically, and her energy levels soared.

Lisa’s approach to the carnivore diet is nuanced and individualized. She found that eliminating oxalates, commonly found in foods like dark chocolate and almonds, was key to reversing her frozen shoulder and enhancing overall health. While initially challenging, the removal of oxalates proved to be a crucial step in her health improvement.

Physical fitness remains an integral part of Lisa’s lifestyle. She continues to exercise regularly, incorporating free weights and stretching into her routine. Her workouts are efficient, taking only twenty minutes, yet they play a vital role in her overall wellness.

Her journey is not just about dietary change but a holistic approach to health. Lisa’s story serves as an inspiring example of how targeted dietary adjustments can lead to profound health benefits. It underscores the importance of listening to one’s body and being open to change.

Benefit 1: Allergy Elimination and Digestive Health

One of the most striking benefits Lisa Alex Gray experienced on the carnivore diet is the complete elimination of her allergies. This remarkable change is not just a minor improvement but a total transformation, highlighting the diet’s potential impact on immune response and allergen sensitivity. Prior to the diet, allergies were a significant part of her health challenges, but with the carnivore diet, she experienced a 100% alleviation. This could be attributed to the elimination of certain food triggers and a reduction in systemic inflammation.

Additionally, her digestive health saw a dramatic turnaround. Having battled with stomach ulcers since her teens, the switch to a carnivore diet brought unexpected relief and healing. The diet’s focus on high-protein, low-carbohydrate foods may have contributed to a more balanced gut environment, reducing irritation and promoting healing. The simplicity of the diet, eliminating potential irritants like oxalates and complex carbs, could have played a crucial role in this improvement.

Benefit 2: Energy Boost and Physical Fitness Enhancement

Another significant benefit Lisa noted was an immense increase in energy levels. The carnivore diet, rich in proteins and fats, may have provided a more stable and efficient energy source, eliminating the spikes and crashes often associated with carbohydrate-heavy diets. This sustained energy is crucial for overall vitality and daily functioning, making a noticeable difference in Lisa’s life.

Her physical fitness also improved. Despite already being active, the diet seemed to enhance her exercise routine. Regular workouts with free weights became more effective, possibly due to better muscle recovery and strength gains from the high-protein diet. The diet’s impact on her physical fitness is not just about muscle building, but also about maintaining flexibility and overall body health, as evident in her activities like stretching and using a yoga hammock.

Conclusion: A Life Transformed

Lisa Alex Gray’s journey with the carnivore diet is a compelling testament to the power of dietary transformation. Her story is not just about the alleviation of physical ailments, but a comprehensive enhancement of life quality. The elimination of allergies, healing of long-standing stomach ulcers, reversal of frozen shoulder, and an unprecedented boost in energy levels collectively mark a profound shift in her overall well-being.

What makes Lisa’s experience particularly inspiring is her holistic approach. She didn’t just change her diet; she embraced a lifestyle that prioritizes listening to her body’s needs. Her discipline in avoiding oxalates and sugars, coupled with her commitment to regular exercise, illustrates a balanced approach to health.

The carnivore diet, often viewed with skepticism, proved to be a life-changing choice for Lisa. It underscores the potential of dietary adjustments to not just manage but resolve chronic health issues. Lisa’s story is a beacon of hope for many, demonstrating that sometimes, the right food choices can indeed be the best medicine.

Her journey, marked by exploration, adaptation, and discovery, serves as an encouraging example for anyone seeking to overcome health challenges through dietary changes.

Interview with Alex

Lisa Alex Gray carnivore diet before and after age 54

1) Introduce Yourself.

My name is Lisa Alex Gray. I’m 54 years old and have been on the carnivore diet for a little over a year.

2) How did you eat before Carnivore.

I’ve eaten a paleo-based diet for almost a decade prior to starting the carnivore diet. This consisted of meats, seafood, vegetables, and salads. The only sugar consumed was in the form of a couple of squares of dark chocolate.

3) Why did you try Carnivore to begin with.

I had some health issues that I couldn’t seem to resolve no matter what I tried including a life long battle with stomach ulcers (since my late teens), digestive issues, horrible allergies, two rounds of frozen shoulder in three years, and off and on fatigue.

My son heard the Joe Rogan show with Dr Shawn Baker and turned me on to it and I decided to try the diet, along with my husband.

4) How do you personally approach the Carnivore Diet.

I eat primarily beef (steak and fatty ground beef), some salmon, seafood, liver sausage, and hard cheese. I drink primarily water, every once and awhile I will add lemon to the water, and I will have a Zevia periodically. No coffee, no sugar (unless desperate, then a small square of Lindt White Chocolate). I don’t eat any form of oxalates including dark chocolate. Overall, I very rarely even crave sugar and if I do usually eating some more fat will make the craving go away.

5) What benefits have you seen since starting the Carnivore Diet.

I no longer have any allergies (100% gone!), my stomach ulcers have healed (finally), my digestive track is super happy, I had started getting frozen shoulder for the third time when I removed oxalates from my diet (dark chocolate and almonds) and the frozen shoulder reversed, and my energy level is through the roof. I also sleep like a baby.

6) What negatives have you found with the Carnivore Diet.

I really can’t think of any. Removing oxalates from my diet caused some oxalate dumping which included digestive issues, some body aches, and intense itching, but well worth it considering the positives I’ve experienced.

7) Do you exercise on the Carnivore Diet, if so how do you find it and what do you do.

I exercised before the carnivore diet and still do now. I work out about 4 to 5 times a week with free weights in my garage. It takes me all of twenty minutes max. I also do some stretching and goofing around on my yoga hammock.

8) What piece of advice would you give someone who is interested in trying this diet, but hasn’t taken the leap yet.

Try changing one part of your diet, maybe breakfast, reduce other foods and eat only from the animal kingdom (which is vast). Then slowly keep reducing down the other foods and increasing the animal choices. Take baby steps and notice how you feel as you go. Everyone is different and as far as what they can eat. Test something see how you feel.

The carnivore diet is a great elimination diet. It helps you truly see what food bother you. My husband can eat plain yogurt, cream and soft cheese and I can’t. I don’t feel good when I do. We all have our differences.

9) Do you think Carnivore will ever be accepted as a mainstream diet.

I think diets come and go like any shiny object. I believe this one will be around for a long time like many other truly successful diet choices. I also believe for those who have issues with plant anti-nutrients this way of eating is a game-changer. I can’t imagine my life eating any differently and I don’t want to.

It is clear to me and anyone else who has tried this way of eating, food truly is medicine, when you choose the right food.

10) Anything you would like to add, and where can people follow your journey.
