Carnivore Diet success stories – with Rashad

Interview with Rashad

Introduce Yourself.

My name is Rashad Lavelle. I have been eating Carnivore since November of 2019. My mission is to debunk lies that are targeted towards the Carnivore diet as well as the aspect of consuming red meat.

How did you eat before Carnivore.

Before Carnivore I was a strict plant based Vegan diet for 2 years. Most of the diet was low fat and high carbs. Before the vegan was a typical standard American diet.  I only started to eat vegan because of the severe gout issues that I was experiencing at a young age. The doctors told me that I had to stay away form Red Meat and certain fishes.

Why did you try Carnivore to begin with.

I eventually had to quit the Vegan diet, because of the severe gut issues such as bloating, and I also had high blood pressure of 160/110 on this diet, as well as brain fog. I heard of Carnivore from the Joe Rogan Podcast when he interviewed Jordan Peterson. This began my research on ancestral eating and the many health benefits that they were experiencing.

How do you personally approach the Carnivore Diet.

Through the weekdays, I am pretty much 100% Carnivore, starting with eggs and a protein of either sausage or bacon. This is usually around 12ish. The 2nd meal is either some type of steak, ground beef, or salmon. For the weekends I am about 85% carnivore and I add a few berries or maybe a bell pepper to my egg scramble. I stay away from dairy as much as possible though, just because I am lactose intolerant.

What benefits have you seen since starting the Carnivore Diet.

The biggest benefit is gout being in remission since I started. I went against what all the doctors were saying. I used to have a gout flare up at least once per month. It seems like a miracle. The other major benefits are the gut issues. No more bloating. The bloating was so horrible, that I thought I had a severe case of IBS. In reality, I just couldn’t digest beans and legumes. Mental Clarity is back, and I have noticed a spike in libido.

What negatives have you found with the Carnivore Diet.

Social influence can be a problem when I am around gatherings. Sometimes the temptations are there with other foods that I used to participate in. The first few weeks of Carnivore diet was some constipation, but this went away as I progressed.

Do you exercise on the Carnivore Diet, if so, how do you find it and what do you do.

I exercise at least 3 x’s per week with weights at the gym or either through the Beach Body on Demand. But daily is biking riding in the mornings or evenings. This has become easy, because I always take my dogs biking riding around the neighborhood for a quick cardio.

What piece of advice would you give someone who is interested in trying this diet but hasn’t taken the leap yet.

Get plenty of knowledge about the diet, and myths, before jumping in full force. Purchase books and find a mentor that you can ask plenty of questions. The reason is because there is a lot of misinformation on the media as well as vegan propaganda that may confuse you or discourage you. A lot of misinformation will stir up fear.

Do you think Carnivore will ever be accepted as a mainstream diet.

Food has become political and it seems to be a never-ending battle. Accepting Carnivore in mainstream is pretty much telling the government (with their Food Pyramid), that they were wrong. Nobody likes to be wrong.

The Carnivore movement is definitely growing and I do have hope that it will be accepted, but it’s a battle between us and the Sugar & Food industry.
