Carnivore Diet success stories – with Amelie

Introduce Yourself.

I will graduate from high school this summer and start to study mechanical engineering in Munich afterwards.

How did you eat before Carnivore.

Before I did a strict ketogenic diet for about 6 months while counting my macros.

Why did you try Carnivore to begin with.

Like every girl my age, I had problems with my body shape and skin. With keto that improved a little but I still felt chubby and wasn’t really satisfied. Additionally my nose was always stuffed due to allergies. I was just curious.

How do you personally approach the Carnivore Diet.

In the beginning I ate all kinds of meat, dairy, sausage and eggs etc. but no organs or too much fat. Now I’m eating mostly beef including organs because I experienced digestion problems on dairy, pork and sausages. I’ve upped my fat but still feel sick if it’s too much. I started with three meals a day, then introduced intermittent fasting with two meals a day and since two weeks I’m doing OMAD.

What benefits have you seen since starting the Carnivore Diet.

When I started the Carnivore diet I experienced weight loss, clearing of the skin, no brain fog anymore, stronger motivation, better focus and muscle building. But on top of that what surprised me the most was that I could listen to my body a lot better, I didn’t have these mood fluctuations like before, I could do extended fasts without dying from hunger and I gained more self confidence in bucking the trend. If you compare it to other diets it’s kinda funny how easy and fast it is to cook on Carnivore and how cheap nutritious meat is, including organs and fat in comparison to a plant based diet. Just think of how many products you need as side dishes or as a snack!

What negatives have you found with the Carnivore Diet.

Clearly the Carnivore diet changes your social life. Instead of eating out, drinking alcohol, going into a café, you rather do sports, go into nature and just enjoy talking to other people. This can be seen negatively but also positively as it is a change to a healthier lifestyle.  Another aspect that can be seen from both sides is the increased sensitivity. I developed certain intolerance’s against any kinds of vegetable oils, spices, dairy, alcohol, carbohydrates, pork fat etc. These came up after half a year on the Carnivore diet and mostly revealed themselves through diarrhea, nausea and stomach aching. Actually this is a sign for a leaky gut which has been there before, too. This issue can probably only be healed with a so called paleolithic ketogenic diet from paleomedicina, containing beef, lamb and water exclusively and a high fat content. In real life it’s sometimes hard to buck the trend and stay consequent, especially in a plant-based community. But it will pay off in the end!

Do you exercise on the Carnivore Diet, if so how do you find it and what do you do.

With the Carnivore diet I at first wanted to build up my muscles and get leaner. So I introduced two training sessions, one for my upper and one for my lower body with some cardio like jogging for half an hour. As I did a workout or went jogging every day, my body consequently couldn’t really adapt to the fat-system and thus my creatinine kinase and my alkaline phosphatase levels raised. After a while I noticed that I lost my cycle which couldn’t be related to health problems because my hormone levels and my uterus were fine. Finally after more than half a year I contacted the paleomedicina clinic in Budapest. Their doctors found out that my cycle loss had been caused by my exaggerating fitness life. With the help of an assistant I followed this diet and stopped training and doing sports for two months. Now my levels went back again and I started going to the gym 2-3 times a week to not overchallenge my body. All in all  my period didn’t come back till now but I think this is due to my stressful study life for my A-level exams.

What piece of advice would you give someone who is interested in trying this diet, but hasn’t taken the leap yet.

For me still the benefits outweigh the disadvantages. I can recommend to try it out for 30 days which is a short period compared to your whole life. But don’t overeat on cheese and protein! Be aware of the big importance of fat that will enable you to be in the healing state ketosis.

Do you think Carnivore will ever be accepted as a mainstream diet.

I don’t think the diet will ever be accepted by the whole health system because there is so much fraud going on. For example it would be a bad profit for the pharma companies if everybody is healthy again and also for industrial companies who mostly produce plant and not animal based food. That’s why there is such a big money trafficking behind the media, the doctors, the pharma etc. that make it hard to work against it.

Anything you would like to add, and where can people follow you.
