Carnivore Diet success stories – with Leigh

Interview with Leigh

1) Introduce Yourself.

My name is Leigh Roberts.I am 24 years old. I’m a stay at home mother to two young children under the age of Two! My hobbies include cooking, baking, swimming, cycling, and playing squash.

2) How did you eat before Carnivore.

Last year, I was pregnant with my daughter who is now 10 months old. She was predicted to be a very small baby when born. This was a result of suffering from really bad hyperemesis in the first half of my pregnancy which had left me in hospital on several drips. As soon as i was able to eat again, I ate it all! It had worked, She was born a decent 8lb 1oz.

I gained a huge amount of weight from eating so much and thought that I would lose it all during breastfeeding but that didn’t happen. I was still eating everything I could get my hands on and downing calorie shakes to boost my milk supply. I stopped breastfeeding at 11 weeks. (This was not weight related in anyway)

I then decided to do keto but I found macro counting absolutely tedious. I hated constanly counting macros and trying to figure out how much of everything I should eat, I lasted a little while but around Christmas, I gave up and let myself indulge with the family

3) Why did you try Carnivore to begin with.

I wondered if I was able to have zero carbs, no more eating vegetables as I’ve always been a huge meat lover. I googled it and came across Carnivore. I didn’t find much information apart from the negative reviews and sites calling it a fad diet, I wanted to see the other side and so I decided to join several groups on Facebook and check out what the real Carnivores was saying and how it benefits them! I ended up starting on new years day!

4) How do you personally approach the Carnivore Diet.

At the beginning, I wasn’t very strict about it, I was drinking drinks containing artificial sweeteners, I was eating tons of dairy and drinking spirits, I was getting the results that I hoped for. On my birthday (which is mid march), I accidentally drank a coke cherry that I wrongly assumed was zero sugar with rum and I had the worse stomach pains, the next three days was painful and I broke out in terrible acne, I then realised that I need to be more careful with what I’m eating. I soon moved on to drinking just water and I decided to cut out the cheese and cream which I believe was also holding me back. I now eat Beef, Seafood, Eggs, Fish and salt.

5) What benefits have you seen since starting the Carnivore Diet.

The major one has been weightloss! It was the original reason for starting carnivore and it actually worked! I started off as 68kg which is overweight for my height and I am now a healthy 55kgs!

Another benefit has been the change in my skin and hair. My skin is a lot clearer and after 10 years of acne, its a huge relief! I have tried all sorts of acne treatments for my skin from over the counter treatments, prescription treatments and even antibiotics for 3 years. None of these worked. If only my teenage self knew about carnivore!

My hair is so thick now! I actually recently shaved it off because I want to grow it out natural and undyed. So far it’s thicker than ever and I cannot wait to see how it looks when it is long again!

6) What negatives have you found with the Carnivore Diet.

The negatives for me personally would be the carb cravings. The rest of my family are not carnivore, the arent even close. There is always junk food in the house and it does get hard to resist but then I think about that diet coke and cringe, there’s no way that I would put up with 3 days of pain for a custard pastry! 😉

7) Do you exercise on the Carnivore Diet, if so how do you find it and what do you do.

I don’t exercise anymore than I usually would but I have found that the exercise that I do is A LOT easier than how it was before, I have more energy and endurance! I don’t know if that’s carnivore related, weightloss related or both but it definitely makes exercise more fun and rewarding!

8) What piece of advice would you give someone who is interested in trying this diet, but hasn’t taken the leap yet.

Do it, seriously, just try it for a month and see how you feel! You will never know if it’s right for you if dont take that leap!

9) Do you think Carnivore will ever be accepted as a mainstream diet.

No. And that’s okay!

10) Anything you would like to add, and where can people follow you.

I am on instagram @Leighdoescarnivore. If you are thinking of doing carnivore or you have any questions, please just send me a message! I will always try and help you out and offer honest advice.

I also want to add that not everyone suffers from diarrhoea at the beginning of doing carnivore. I didn’t, I poop great!

Carnivore Diet success stories – with Kimberly

Interview with Kimberly

1) Introduce Yourself.

Hello! My name is Kimberly Brooke. I am a Primal Health Coach, Yoga teacher, ELDOA practitioner, and CrossFit Coach, who specializes in optimal health and wellness for women.

2) How did you eat before Carnivore.

I came from a high-carb diet! For the first 25 years of my life, I ate the Standard American Diet. Being from the South, it consisted of a lot of potatoes, corn, bread, meat, along with homemade sugary dessert treats (like pies, cobblers, cookies), and Blue Bell ice cream!

3) Why did you try Carnivore to begin with.

That’s a bit of a story… I went to college to play volleyball in 2004 and really hurt my knee, as so many young women in collegiate sports do. I became almost sedentary, but didn’t have the knowledge or anyone to help me change the way I ate. I was depressed, lonely, and homesick in college, and I began self-medicating with food. Very quickly, I ballooned and gained about 85 pounds. I weighed 260 pounds on my 20th birthday and absolutely hated myself.

After several years of yo-yo dieting, starving myself, running countless miles on the treadmill, and trying everything from Atkins to South Beach to Jenny Craig, I finally decided that my body just “wanted to be heavy,” since nothing would keep the weight off. I was in denial about my binge eating and carb addiction.

In 2010, a friend introduced me to Primal eating through Mark Sisson’s Primal Blueprint program, and I was able to drop about 65 pounds by removing sugar, grains, alcohol, and refined seed oils from my diet. I began noticing that I would have insane bloat almost immediately after eating any meal and would never feel satisfied. I always reached for seconds and sometimes thirds… It was like there was a hole inside me that I was trying (unsuccessfully) to fill with food. My weight would yo-yo back and forth between 180 and 200 pounds, but I believed so fully in the success I’d had at that time that I became certified in the Primal method in order to help other people break free of their sugar addiction.

It was Nov. 2018 when I stumbled across Dr. Shawn Baker, Dr. Kevin Stock, and the Carnivore Diet. I started looking into the anti-nutrients in fruits and vegetables, specifically regarding issues I was having. I literally could NOT believe that fruits and vegetables, the absolute bastions of healthy super foods, were causing me to gain weight, throwing my hormones off, continuing to keep me addicted to carbs, and causing my sugar cravings.

I presented this newfound information to my husband, who was immediately skeptical. After he read several articles and saw the anecdotal evidence of people like Kelly Hogan and Dr. Baker who had been doing Carnivore long-term, he decided we could give it a try, and we both jumped in cold turkey.

Within days, my bloating resolved, I lost 12 pounds in 10 days, and I felt incredible. While the Adaptation was a little rough on my husband and me, we got through it and HAVEN’T LOOKED BACK!!!

4) How do you personally approach the Carnivore Diet.

In our house, my husband and I eat similarly, but he is much more tolerant of things like seasonings (“flavor plants”) and can go off the diet without too much trouble. If I deviate, I experience near-instant bloating, headaches, and a general sense of malaise. It’s enough that it’s become self-perpetuating for me. My diet consists mostly of red meat (steak or ground beef), eggs, bacon, and butter.

5) What benefits have you seen since starting the Carnivore Diet.

Level energy, I can go hours and hours without eating and be totally fine (I have developed a natural 16:8 fasting pattern), I am as lean as I have ever been, and my strength gains are out of control. My cystic acne is gone, my hair and nails are thicker, and my skins feels softer and smoother. I’ve found that my unreasonable sugar cravings completely abated after a week, and I am totally satisfied by what I eat. My husband reports very similar improvements!

carni4

6) What negatives have you found with the Carnivore Diet.

Honestly, nothing with the diet or nutrition… Interestingly, we’ve found that social gatherings can become quite difficult, especially when it comes to going out to restaurants. I have to be insanely careful when I order and insist on no seasoning on meat, no bread, no veggies, no sides… People look at me like I’ve grown another head. On the other hand, it’s showed me who my REAL friends are. They say they find my odd ordering style rather endearing now!

The only other negative is the unreal debates I’ve gotten in with friends and family. They seem concerned I’m going to kill myself, despite animal foods being the most bioavailable source of nutrients for a human. So far, it’s been well over a year and I show no signs of deterioration.

7) Do you exercise on the Carnivore Diet, if so how do you find it and what do you do.

I do CrossFit three to four times a week and Yoga and meditation every day. Form weeks two to four, weeks when I was adapting to Carnivore, I was hardcore on the struggle bus during my workouts. Every day life was fine when it came to energy levels, but the moment I tried to lift or do anything involving endurance, I would crash. Just to get through the work outs, I would take every weight off the bar and still almost pass out before the end. It wasn’t until the end of the fourth week that I noticed my energy coming back, and now I absolutely coast through workouts and go even heavier than the workout calls for.

8) What piece of advice would you give someone who is interested in trying this diet, but hasn’t taken the leap yet.

JUST DO IT. You’ll never be “ready.” There will never be a “right time.” We started the day before Thanksgiving and absolutely made it through eating turkey and prime rib. YOU CAN DO THIS!! I believe in you. ️ This is one of those things that, if you wait, you’ll wish you’d started six months ago!

9) Do you think Carnivore will ever be accepted as a mainstream diet.

As long as the FDA and Big Pharma have a say, absolutely not. It’s really unfortunate, but the way the system works now focuses on “sick care” rather than getting people well and healthy.

10) Anything you would like to add, and where can people follow you.

This way of eating is the best things I’ve ever done for myself. Truly, give it 60-90 days of honest, strict effort before saying it’s not for you. You can always add fruit and veggies back in!

Carnivore Diet success stories – with Allison

Interview with Allison

IMG_20190806_173934_504

1) Introduce Yourself.

Hi! My name is Allison. I live with my boyfriend Alex and my two special German Shep fur babies Leo and Abby. I am a retail store manager with a nutty schedule! Currently I’m out on leave due to major surgery but hoping to get back to working out on 10/18 after my post op!

2) How did you eat before Carnivore.

Before Carnivore I was Keto starting in May of 2018. Before that it was your typical SAD diet. Pizza, chicken nuggets, etc. Basically “convenience foods” as my schedule was wacko and I felt like I didn’t have time to meal prep or really cook anything.

3) Why did you try Carnivore to begin with.

I had seen a few people keto accounts I was following on Facebook and Instagram transitioning to Carnivore or trying Carnivore weeks. I was genuinely interested not only for the weight loss potential bit also the healing. I was noticing they had glowing skin, big beautiful hair and a LOT of energy! I wanted some of that!

4) How do you personally approach the Carnivore Diet.

My personal approach to Carnivore was just keep it super simple. I transitioned out pretty quick, dropping veg and keto sweets within a week. I don’t do a ton of meal prep but I will cook up some beef (a few days worth) if I know I’m working nights or I’m eating alone. My staple items are beef, eggs and steaks. I also take Ancestral Supplements Bone Marrow for added benefits!

5) What benefits have you seen since starting the Carnivore Diet.

Since starting Carnivore, the biggest change I have noticed so far is my skin! I’ve always been on the dry side and now I barely have to use any facial products! My nails are also much stronger and I’ve recently just noticed my hair has started growing quicker then usual. But I think the BEST benefit is my overall energy. I no longer need naps and time flies a lot quicker throughout the day because I have the energy to just keep going! It has made me a more productive member at my job and in my home!

6) What negatives have you found with the Carnivore Diet.

As far as negatives go, I truly haven’t found any other then having to explain my lifestyle sometimes. It can get hard especially with family. My boyfriend is very supportive but he loves his greens and I won’t argue with that .

7) Do you exercise on the Carnivore Diet, if so how do you find it and what do you do.

My exercise regimen is pretty simple. I walk 6 days a week, approx 4-5 miles on a trail near my house. I also get a lot of movement and even some slight cardio working in retail  I also throw in some light weights a couple times a week.

8) What piece of advice would you give someone who is interested in trying this diet, but hasn’t taken the leap yet.

If I could give anyone any kind of advice to someone considering the Carnivore lifestyle it would be 2 things: keep it simple and do your research! There are many ways to be carnivore and also many ways to get started. Not everyone can go cold turkey off sugar and carbs while for others it’s very very easy. When planning your meals again, don’t overthink! I found it best to start simple ground beef, salt and water! Hydration is key! Salt will help immensely with that.

9) Do you think Carnivore will ever be accepted as a mainstream diet.

I do hope someday the Carnivore lifestyle will be considered mainstream or something even close to that. I still think there are a few walls to break down, especially in the medical industry. There are so many positive things healing wise with the Carnivore lifestyle that I think it scares Big Pharma a little bit. And that’s a good thing!

10) Anything you would like to add, and where can people follow you.

I hope even my very simple, non-influencer life might inspire more simple guys and gals to step out of their comfort zone and start this Carnivore lifestyle for their health! My instagram handle is @allythecarnivore

Carnivore Diet success stories – with Sarah

Interview with Sarah

76FEEE9B-472D-44E5-AC44-299B180F5A06

1) Introduce Yourself.

Hi! I’m Sarah, a personal trainer from New Zealand. I’m 30 years old – soon to be 31 in a week!

2) How did you eat before Carnivore.

I came to the carnivore lifestyle in a very natural way – although I did kind of get my mind blown a few times! Before carnivore, I ate very much a standard diet – with maybe a bodybuilder twist. I loved eating oats with protein powder in the morning. Things like egg whites, chicken breast with broccoli, chicken breast and rice, chicken rice and broccoli, haha you get the idea. There was a lot of chicken breast in my diet. And every now and then I would eat something completely off plan like a chocolate bar or bag of lollies, because as much as I told myself I loved my diet, it wasn’t that satisfying. I gulped down like a protein bar a day and loved Diet Coke. Just all things I wouldn’t even look at now!

3) Why did you try Carnivore to begin with.

For a long time, the body builder style way of eating worked very well at keeping a lean physique. But after a few years it stopped working. I was eating the same things, but just gaining weight this time. I started increasing output, decreasing input, to get a small result, and then weight gain again. I was so tired – all the time. I decided to push harder – much more output in the gym, less input food wise – no more treats and more dry chicken breast, more diet cokes. I was running myself into the ground. I felt the sickest I had ever felt. I couldn’t work as much, I would get home and collapse into bed with a very strong pulsing sensation in my neck. My psoriasis was at the point where it was cracking and bleeding. I felt at breaking point. I started seeing the doctor, where he suspected I had a thyroid condition – I was referred to a clinic. Whilst waiting to be seen by the clinic, I told my boyfriend that maybe I should try fasting. I didn’t believe in it, I’ll admit that. I just saw it as an easy way to get my calories down. It was a cry for help. My boyfriend is very much into researching things, so one night he pulls up YouTube on our telly and just starts playing a Jason Fung video on fasting. I remember mildly being interested as we were packing for a trip away. The video was an hour long. By the end of it, I was hooked on the science. I told my partner I was going to commence a 5 day fast – right then and there – with my limited knowledge of fasting, I began. We went on holiday and I stuck to my guns. I fasted the whole 5 days, although I struggled one day and cried. Of those 5 days, I immersed myself in study. I read and I read and I read. I dropped a large amount of weight. I felt a strange sense of energy. That was when my mind started to open. Jason Fung had mentioned about keto – I previously was a hater of anything that mentioned ‘low carb’ – I would get mad and say it was such a dangerous diet and you needed carbs – THAT person. But because my fast had worked so well, and I had been researching keto on my 5 day holiday, I then instantly launched into keto. I was definitely laughed at by a few of my colleagues. But I kept on. It was the first time I ever felt a shift in the right direction health wise. I continued this for maybe a year, where I met an amazing woman Theresa, who competed in a bodybuilding show – on keto. I was so intrigued, I asked if I could have coffee with her. I remember telling her how my mind was blown about keto and I couldn’t believe this information was not more mainstream. I told her what I was doing was safe – I was getting enough fibre, and having healthy fats like coconut oil. I remember her laughing and saying ‘you know you don’t have to do that, right?’ And I will always remember her words ‘that whole fibre argument is a myth.’ So mind blown number 1: fasting is actually healthy. Mind blown number 2: keto is actually healthy, so long as you eat vegetables. Mind blown number 3: vegetables may not actually be that good for you, in fact, they’re kinda harmful – and there are people who go without them altogether! I remember saying to her – ‘wow that’s amazing, but I couldn’t do that. That would be too hard. Where is the variety?’ But as you know, I went home and researched my little heart out. And the next thing I knew, I was dipping my toes in the water to carnivore. That was where I saw the most increases in my health. It made me realise that I might actually live one day symptom free – of my thyroid condition, of my skin condition, of depression even – which I had never considered would improve!

4) How do you personally approach the Carnivore Diet.

My way of approaching the carnivore diet changes all the time. When I first began, I needed to vary meats a lot, to keep myself interested. Nowadays I have mostly beef, and supplement with other meats. I have now say I have popped my raw beef cherry, as well as lambs liver (still working on enjoying the lambs liver). I tend to eat once a day, at the end of the day. With how far I have come so far, I can only hope that I will grow more into eating this way as time goes by!

5) What benefits have you seen since starting the Carnivore Diet.

The benefits that carnivore has provided for me are immense. My thyroid condition only appears now when I stray from diet. Psoriasis has cleared. Joint pain is almost non existent. I now fall asleep quickly – coming from previous struggles with insomnia. My hair grows so fast and my eyes are brighter. I have struggled my entire adult life with depression, with multiple bouts of feeling suicidal – this is now completely gone and I’m 100% unmedicated – in fact, I take no medications at all now – for anything. I don’t even get headaches anymore, whereas I used to get insane migraines. My weight has now balanced out, and I don’t have to work hard to keep it that way. My training in the gym has improved. My period has returned – from 8 years without one. It is crazy how many benefits I’ve had, in fact I could go on and on with this one! But you get the idea.

6) What negatives have you found with the Carnivore Diet.

As for the cons, I don’t know if there are any cons – when adjusting to the diet, for sure there are some digestive issues in the first few days. Also my electrolytes fell out a lot in the first few days – this has all panned out now. The main con would be not being able to talk to everyone about this. People are not very open at all to this idea, and I constantly get people asking me to ‘prove it’ to them – I’m lucky that I don’t feel the need to prove it. I don’t mind what other people do, I don’t take it upon myself to convert everyone to eating meat. It is too tiring, and the old saying goes – you can lead a horse to water, but you cannot make it drink!

7) Do you exercise on the Carnivore Diet, if so how do you find it and what do you do.

I do exercise regularly on this diet – being that it is my job, but also a big hobby of mine. I exercise fasted, always. I have no issues with this and find I can push really hard in my sessions! My sessions are not about weight loss anymore, more about building muscle and just enjoying what my body can do. I probably train anywhere from 3-6 times a week.

8) What piece of advice would you give someone who is interested in trying this diet, but hasn’t taken the leap yet.

My best piece of advice to someone looking to try this lifestyle, is to do research. Find people with experience, ask them questions. Find out your ‘why’ – why are you doing this? This will make it easier to stick to, as you get more used to it.

9) Do you think Carnivore will ever be accepted as a mainstream diet.

Unfortunately I don’t feel carnivore will ever be accepted as a main stream diet. I think it will become more accepted, but never mainstream.  There’s not a lot of money to be made from it (same with fasting actually!) and also – sugar addicted people who prefer to stay in denial, will never want this to be true that this is a healthy way of eating – it threatens their sugar addiction after all! I do find it very sad that a lot of people are still addicted to these fake foods – I was one of them!

10) Anything you would like to add, and where can people follow your journey.

Thanks for asking me about my journey! It’s been fun reflecting on it.

Carnivore Diet success stories – with Sonja

Interview with Sonja

IMG_6817

1) Introduce Yourself.

My name is Sonja Graff. I am a 52-year-old yoga instructor and writer.

2) How did you eat before Carnivore.

I came to carnivore via the S.A.D diet. And it was very sad indeed. I quit drinking alcohol nearly 5 years ago, which helped me shed some pounds, but my eating habits ranged from vegan to see food. As in: I would eat anything and load up on it! I was a carbohydrate addict! Desserts were more important to me than actual food. I snacked all day and ate meals every 2 – 3 hours (Old School.) 🙂 I figured as long as I was also incorporating enough fruits and veggies, supplements and green drinks I was doing great!  I used to brag that I was able to eat whatever I wanted without putting on too much weight, but I wasn’t paying very close attention to what my choices were doing to me.

3) Why did you try Carnivore to begin with.

Here within lies the problem. About seven years ago, on my 45th birthday actually, I noticed a tiny little balding spot on my scalp. I was going through a stressful time and just wrote it off, hoping it would just work itself out. It didn’t. It got bigger, to the tune of a fifty-cent piece! I went to several doctors who said it was alopecia and that it had no cure but could be managed with cortisone shots…in my scalp…every 3 weeks! Once a spot would fill in, another would appear. I chased it for SEVEN YEARS! I even had six PRP treatments at $650 a pop. Nothing worked. In addition to styling my hair like Donald Trump to cover the bald spots, I started to notice my energy levels were dropping. I was sleeping in and napping every day. Then the lower back pain set in, it was more of a nuisance at first, but over time became debilitating. Then my fingers started to ache so badly that I couldn’t even tie my shoes as the movements were too intricate. Some days I couldn’t get out of bed because my body hurt so badly. So…at 51 I was suffering from chronic fatigue, chronic joint pain, migraines, insomnia, inflammation, bloating and gas after every meal, and severe hair loss! I started to realize it was not just old age. I was getting sicker by the day. My husband is in medical sales and knows every kind of specialist, so I saw them all. And do you know what every single one of them said after ruling out thyroid trouble, arthritis, cancer, bone deterioration etc. etc. etc….most said it was all in my head! It was stress! Then an endocrinologist suggested fibromyalgia, which has no cure other than Big Pharma. I was at my wits end! I started researching like my life depended on it because…it did! At first, I believed it to be breast implant illness. So, I suggested we take a look at my 20-year-old implants. What do ya know…they had leaked and my lymph nodes were filled with silicone! I immediately had them removed and replaced with new, shiny implants. I was overjoyed that I was able to find what was killing me, all by myself and heal my body. Except that aside from having perky new boobs, my other symptoms persisted. That’s when I found Nicole Carter on Instagram. She went through yoga teacher training with me, has a Masters in Health Promotion and was suffering from similar issues as me. She had been a vegan for 15 years and suddenly she was only eating meat, and she was thriving! I started researching the carnivore WOE and decided to give it a 30 go to see if it could help alleviate my suffering. What do you know…I say results in as little as 5 days! Within 2 weeks I could see my abs! I never knew they existed! By day 75 I was energetic, lean, strong and my hair was actually growing back in and staying put! By day 120, I had never felt better! I was doing yoga like I was 20, all of my pain and fatigue had disappeared and my body was better than it had ever, and I mean ever, looked! So, what started off as a 30 experiment has lasted over 6 months and I am not going back to my old WOE! But, I have added in the occasional dessert…I have cheated while on vacation from time to time, but I usually feel so crappy that I abstain.

4) How do you personally approach the Carnivore Diet.

I started off by eliminating any and all plant-based foods, all carbs, sugars, artificial sweeteners, grains…I only ate beef, seafood, eggs, and chicken (wings) 🙂 I also ate a lot of cheese because I don’t think I want to live in a world where I can’t eat cheese! I never graduated to organs, I don’t like the taste and can get the dense nutrients from an ancestral supplement. I also never graduated to beef, water, salt only. I feel so great that I don’t want to remove anything like the occasional heavy whipping cream from my coffee (if I’m not fasting) or the occasional scoop of ice cream. I intermittently fast daily for a minimum of 18-24 hours and I only eat once or twice a day. I consume 1.5 to 2 lbs of meat, fish or poultry (one or in combination) each day. I cook everything in ghee, use real salt, drink only water, electrolytes and black coffee.

5) What benefits have you seen since starting the Carnivore Diet.

I have completely healed all of my symptoms. Although admittedly, when I indulge in dessert, my stomach gets very upset with me!

IMG_6816

6) What negatives have you found with the Carnivore Diet.

None. I primarily eat rib-eye steaks, burger patties, eggs. I can always find something to eat when I go out and I never get bored with the foods I do eat. I can assure you, feeling healthier than ever in my life is so wonderful, I can’t find any negatives!

7) Do you exercise on the Carnivore Diet, if so how do you find it and what do you do.

I exercise considerably less than I used to. I no longer go for runs! I do yoga, barre, weights or take a spin class. I work out 2 – 3 times a week instead of the 5 to 6 I used to think I needed!

8) What piece of advice would you give someone who is interested in trying this diet, but hasn’t taken the leap yet.

Just do it! Give yourself a small goal, like 30 days. What’s the worst that can happen? You feel better? If you don’ t like it, stop. Pretty simple. But definitely give it a go. It can be the best decision you have ever made!

9) Do you think Carnivore will ever be accepted as a mainstream diet.

I do. I think as more and more people try it and reap the benefits, the science will be indisputable. We definitely need more research, but we also need more people who have incorporated this into their everyday lives for a significant amount of time.

10) Anything you would like to add, and where can people follow your journey

When you tell people that you have decided to eat only animal products, they lose their minds! My doctors thought me completely insane. Outside of my social media support, I didn’t get much support from anyone who knew me well. People fear what they don’t understand. Do not be swayed by anyone’s opinion! Commit to getting healthy! Have a thick skin! Do the research! And, I highly suggest anyone looking to heal their bodies get their blood work done beforehand so they have a marker. Also…take before pics! What a hoot! 🙂

Carnivore Diet success stories – with River

Interview with River

6AD59AF2-9FF9-4878-AE36-05F0A41231AD

1) Introduce Yourself.

Hi. My name is River. I am a mother of 2 beautiful girls, & have a wonderful husband. We love to travel and explore the earth together.

2) How did you eat before Carnivore.

I grew up eating a standard American diet… I became a vegetarian by age 20 and full-blow vegan by 21. I spent 5 years trying to dial in the perfect vegan dietary approach… only to find myself totally malnourished, skinny, anxious and depressed. I tried junk food vegan, whole food purist vegan, high fat, low fat, high carb, mucas-less, vegan paleo, vegan keto, raw vegan, fruitarian, has an interest breatharian… I sought to continue improving and tweaking the vegan diet to one that made me feel the best. Every time I tweaked it I thought “This is it! I feel great now!” But the feeling didn’t last… and I had to keep searching and searching… until I realised I was searching in all the wrong places….

3) Why did you try Carnivore to begin with.

I started incorporating meat back into my diet, and I immediately felt better! I quickly realized that veggies made my bloat and wanted nothing to do with them! I loved the way I felt eating animal products and wanted to explore what a 100% animal products diet would do for my health.

4) How do you personally approach the Carnivore Diet.

I’ve played around with this too… in the beginning, if it was an animal product, I ate it. Meat and organs from any animal raw or cooked, cheese raw or pasteurised, honey, raw milk, cream, sour cream, butter, eggs…

I had so much variety, I was never bored and everything was amazing! After a few months I started to notice how certain animal foods made me feel better than others.

I started cutting out things one by one until I ended up with only beef left. I stayed on Beef only for a month or two and I felt pretty good, but the difference wasn’t major. Currently, I eat nose to tail beef, and occasionally eat eggs, raw cheese, pork, small amounts of raw cream, small amounts of raw honey, and Tallow. I don’t really thing there is a right way or a wrong way to approach this… really it’s just what works for you and what you like!

5) What benefits have you seen since starting the Carnivore Diet.

The moment I ate meat I felt my anxiety lift away. Depression gone within days… those were the two most noticeable effects that were pretty immediate. I’ve noticed I have increased mental clarity and memory retention. My emotions are stable, I don’t anger or get upset easily… I’m never sad for no reason. I have a sense of calm I have never had before going carnivore. I have regained muscle mass, and have sustainable energy. As a vegan I was always battling fatigue. My hair doesn’t break or split at the ends anymore. My fingernails are strong and sharp… they used to be so brittle and I was so anxious I’d always pick them off to be so short. My skin has cleared up, and I actually tan in the sun instead of burn. I don’t have bags under my eyes anymore. My lips are never chapped… I’ve gained a healthy amount of weight back. My digestion is actually functioning properly. I don’t ever have gas or bloating. I’ve seen my children flourish with healthy animal foods in their diet too! That has probably been the best benefit! The shift in my mentality has been huge… Second best benefit!

6) What negatives have you found with the Carnivore Diet.

Family and friends generally don’t understand and are not supportive or think I’m nuts… but I don’t care. I feel amazing and that’s all that matters.

7) Do you exercise on the Carnivore Diet, if so how do you find it and what do you do.

I love being active and now that I actually have the energy to push myself… I have been taking full advantage of it! I love hiking, biking, swimming… I walk everyday. And go to the gym at least 4-5 times/week. I love CrossFit and weight training. And I practice yoga too. My energy increase has changed the way I workout and I feel so much stronger than I’ve felt. I really excited to see how I progress as time goes on!

8) What piece of advice would you give someone who is interested in trying this diet, but hasn’t taken the leap yet.

If you’re interested, just go for it! Set a goal and reach for it. Give it at least 30 days and the first week or 2 you might feel like crap as your body adjusts… don’t give up! Push through and see what this diet really has to offer. It’s seriously up-leveled my life…. if you’re into the idea.. you’ve gotta try it! Drink spring water and add pink salt! And don’t forget magnesium oil for your feet!!! (If you don’t know what I’m talking about… look it up… EVERYBODY needs magnesium.)

9) Do you think Carnivore will ever be accepted as a mainstream diet.

No way. Hahaha! I know plenty of people have tried it and will try and will love it! And that’s all that matters!

10) Anything you would like to add, and where can people follow your journey.

Thanks for reading my story… for more check out my Instagram

@ancestral.awakening

My feed is full of epic food pics… but the captions are where it’s at. My Instagram is an ex-vegan blog and journey of carnivore… touching on spirituality… weight gain… nose to tail… children… I hope you’ll go check it out! I don’t have the opportunity to post often, but when I do have the time to share, it’s good! Promise 🙂

Carnivore Diet success stories – with Haley

Interview with Haley

image2 (1)

1) Introduce Yourself.

My name is Haley and I’m a 29-year-old stay at home mom. My pride and joy are my husband and my little girl. I’m currently in school for marketing management! I was overweight for nearly 24 years of my life until I decided to change my life forever. I love swimming (let’s be real, laying in the pool tanning), cooking, and road tripping with my fam.

2) How did you eat before Carnivore.

I have tried literally everything under the sun. Atkins, weight watchers, Nutrisystem, IF, everything. I grew up eating a lot of meat but my main form of nutrition was processed sugary crap. I’m talking eat an entire Red Baron pizza in one sitting and wash it down with ice cream

3) Why did you try Carnivore to begin with.

My husband listened to the Joe Rogan and Shawn Baker podcast and we figured it would be worth a try since nothing else was sustainable and I was miserable in my current state.

4) How do you personally approach the Carnivore Diet.

I personally can’t seem to part ways with dairy so I eat beef, seafood, chicken, pork, and dairy. I eat when hungry and eat until I’m full. No limits. No calorie counting.

5) What benefits have you seen since starting the Carnivore Diet.

Being carnivore has cured a lot of the ailments that I thought were just genetic and I would suffer with forever. Such as acid reflux, digestive issues, high blood pressure, and diabetes. I no longer have intense joint pain, my anxiety and depression are near gone, and my hair is healthier than ever.

6) What negatives have you found with the Carnivore Diet.

It’s not a social norm so I get a lot of funny looks or questions any time I eat out.

7) Do you exercise on the Carnivore Diet, if so how do you find it and what do you do.

I personally don’t exercise outside of my normal, everyday activity. Haven’t found a need for it just yet.

8) What piece of advice would you give someone who is interested in trying this diet, but hasn’t taken the leap yet.

Give it 30 days. Let your body adapt and get ready to live your best life.

9) Do you think Carnivore will ever be accepted as a mainstream diet.

I sure hope that it will. I feel like the carnivore community needs to be more vocal about the benefits of this lifestyle and hopefully, more people can jump on board.

10) Anything you would like to add, and where can people follow your journey.

I’m so grateful to have found Carnivore. It literally saved my life and I hope that anyone struggling gives it a try. My IG handle is: bonjourcarnivore

Carnivore Diet success stories – Marcus

Interview with Marcus

IMG_6043

1) Introduce Yourself.

My name is Marcus, from Nashville, Tn. I have 2 kids and a 3rd on the way. I am a free thinker, minimalist and love doing things the hard way ( you learn so much more🤣).

2) How did you eat before Carnivore.

I ate whatever I wanted when I wanted. I “tried” the vegan diet but realised very quickly that it was nonsense.

3) Why did you try Carnivore to begin with.

To get the most out of life.

4) How do you personally approach the Carnivore Diet.

As simple and basic as possible. I hardly use salt anymore. If I do eat breakfast its 6-8 raw eggs, then for lunch usually 1 pound of beef and a pound of chicken with some added rendered fat. Dinner is another 2 pounds of beef. My multivitamins are raw beef liver and raw oysters.

5) What benefits have you seen since starting the Carnivore Diet.

I sleep a lot better and my hair is growing crazy fast.

6) What negatives have you found with the Carnivore Diet.

Finding high-quality animal products where I live.

7) Do you exercise on the Carnivore Diet, if so how do you find it and what do you do.

I train 5-6 days a week, everything is about the same but with just lower body fat %. Only lifting, powerlifting and bodyweight.

8) What piece of advice would you give someone who is interested in trying this diet, but hasn’t taken the leap yet.

Nose to tail!

9) Do you think Carnivore will ever be accepted as a mainstream diet.

Not if the powers at be have anything to say about it. Eventually, people will come back around to their primal nature.

10) Anything you would like to add, and where can people follow your journey.

Don’t eat like this because it’s cool or whatever, get back to your primal nature and everything will get better for you.
