Carnivore Diet success stories – with Paul

Interview with Paul

1) Introduce Yourself.

I’m Paul.

2) How did you eat before Carnivore.

I basically ate like the recommended food pyramid, anything and everything. 2016-2017 I ate less and less meat each day, under 500g, and more and more fruits, salads, starches, veggies.

3) Why did you try Carnivore to begin with.

I started the carnivore diet, thinking of fitness and bodybuilding. I wanted to lose weight and build muscle.

4) How do you personally approach the Carnivore Diet.

I eat about 1500g of meat. 8 whole eggs, 100g of cheese (on and off). One meal a day. I fast 16-18 hours every day.

5) What benefits have you seen since starting the Carnivore Diet.

Health! I have recovered from 30+ years of illnesses such as: asthma, allergy, eczema / psoriasis, and sleep apnea. I have been symptom free for 2 years! I am on my 3rd year now (2020). I took asthma medicine twice a day every day for 30+years, I now take no medication. I used to sleep with a cpap machine every night for about 10 years, that too is no longer needed. It’s just WOW. I have experienced the desired weight loss, I’ve gone from 98kg, 12% bodyfat, to 85kg, 6,5% bodyfat. This has been easy to maintain, which is important.

6) What negatives have you found with the Carnivore Diet.

The detoxification and oxalate dumping. it happened in the beginning. Also it is no fun, if I eat too much fat. I become very loose in my stomach, aka diarrhea.

7) Do you exercise on the Carnivore Diet, if so how do you find it and what do you do.

I do and I love it. I go to the gym two days in a row, then one day off. I train one body part a day. Chest one day, back one day, and so on. I do three to five exercises. 10 drop sets x 10 reps. Rest, up to one minute between sets.

8) What piece of advice would you give someone who is interested in trying this diet, but hasn’t taken the leap yet.

“Just do it”. Whether you are rich or poor, it is the easiest diet in the world. You eat what
you want, and how much you want of anything you want from the animal world. NO: fruits, salads, starches, carbohydrates, vegetable fiber, root vegetables, vegetables.

9) Do you think Carnivore will ever be accepted as a mainstream diet.

Yes, I do.

10) Anything you would like to add, and where can people follow you.

Carnivore Diet success stories – Chris

Interview with Chris

IMG_6158

Introduce yourself

My name is Chris Spath.  I’m a 44 year old father of 3 children living in Gilbert AZ. Using the carnivore diet, I’ve lost 116 pounds and resolved every physical ailment that I had. I’m now in the best shape of my life.

How did you eat before carnivore?

Like a kid in a candy shop…and cake shop, and a fast food joint. I stress ate; I ate when I was sad. I ate when I was celebrating. All the carbs and fats together.

Why did you try carnivore to begin with?

I’ve always hated vegetables so after starting a keto diet, I found myself forcing down plants that I did not enjoy. Through research I found that they weren’t necessary so I immediately cut them out.

How do you personally approach the carnivore diet?

I keep it simple and from what I believe is an ancestral perspective. I wake up and once I get going I exercise (hunt), then I feast on a large meal of meats, mostly beef (about 2 pounds), then rest (fast).  Repeat daily.

What benefits have you seen since starting the carnivore diet?

I’ve lost 116 pounds so the freedom that brings is immeasurable. I cured my type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, allergies and sleep apnoea.  I was on lots of medications and now I take none.  Improved energy and mental focus. I require less sleep.

What negatives have you found with the carnivore diet?

Other than not being able to enjoy some of those treats that got me sick, I’ve experienced no negatives from the diet itself.

Do you exercise on the carnivore diet, if so How do you find it and what do you do?

I do exercise and find that I have good motivation and energy to be consistent. My regimen consists of a daily morning simple muscle group exercises. Push, pull, raise and squat. 1 pyramid set to failure of each. Each afternoon I take a 1 hour walk in the sun.

What piece of advice would you give someone who is interested in trying this diet, but hasn’t taken the leap yet.

Keep it simple. Eat the meat you enjoy and can afford. Salt it.  Eat till full.  Drink water when thirsty, not more. Lift heavy things daily.

Do you think carnivore will ever be accepted as a mainstream diet?

I am optimistic that in the long run, the results will over shadow the food industry propaganda. Similar to keto, which is now accepted.

Anything you would like to add, and where can people follow your journey?

Experimentation and consistency. Try different things until you find what works for you. Add fat. Try leaner. Try organs. Don’t like organs, don’t eat them. Find your zone and run with it.

Carnivore Diet Success Stories – with Landon

Interview with Landon

IMG_20190403_062240300_BURST007

1) Introduce Yourself.

My name is Landon; I’m 30 years old. I live in Northern Utah and work in Salt Lake City. I love hunting, fishing, and camping. I was born with a heart condition that has been a thorn in my side. I was diagnosed at 18 years old with Bipolar 1 and generalized anxiety.

2) How did you eat before Carnivore.

I ate the Standard American Diet for the most part. I tried to eat a normal healthy diet off and on and always failed. I have tried Low Fat, Vegetarian, Vegan, Herbalife, Freelife, Slim Fast and nothing worked. When I was in the hospital for surgery or psych ward stays, they always told me to limit my meat intake and to eat more fruits, veggies and whole grains. I was 380 pounds and in July of 2017 I tried Keto for a few months and it was better than anything I had tried. I lost 60 pounds and was doing great until I went to my old primary care and he freaked out on me about my diet and freaked me out. I went back to eating a “normal” healthy diet. I would stick to keto or carnivore for a week or two and then go back to eating regular food. I couldn’t stay consistent because I didn’t have the will power anymore. It was a terrible decision. I was depressed and had a lot of anxiety. December 31st I was back up to 360 pounds and disgusted with myself. I had always been a big kid, but this was ridiculous.

3) Why did you try Carnivore to begin with.

In April of 2018 I developed an issue that Doctors still can’t pinpoint. I was having severe chest pain and my arms and legs would go numb. I would get brain fog, fatigue, dizzy spells, chronic headaches, couldn’t sleep, and my concentration was all over the place. I was very sensitive to light which affected my work life and would get dull pain in my jaw. I was in and out of the Doctors office and emergency rooms. They had no clue what was happening and said to just come back if it gets worse. I would get sent home feeling just as terrible as when I went in. I was spending thousands for no answers. My blood pressure was high, and my blood sugar was creeping back up. I was in and out of psych wards and mental health facilities. I had lots of medications for my head and my heart. I had really bad sleep apnea and snored so loud my siblings growing up would throw things at me to get me to stop. I was just sick of getting pills that didn’t work and just getting sicker. I decided to just try things my way.

4) How do you personally approach the Carnivore Diet.

I didn’t want to get bored and have any temptation with junk. So on January 1st of this year, I switched. I would eat brisket, ribs, bacon, burgers, wings, cheese, raw milk, crab, lobster, salmon, deer, elk, etc. If it came from an animal in any way, I was eating it. I don’t count any calories or macros. I usually eat one meal a day, but sometimes I ate sooner if I was hungry. I don’t restrict myself. I eat like a king and love it. I drink a lot of raw A2 milk, and have done two raw milk fasts. I used to take Omeprazole daily, and I finally was able to completely stop it. I now use HCL and Raw milk to fix my stomach issues.

5) What benefits have you seen since starting the Carnivore Diet.

I restarted my Carnivore journey on January 1st. My blood pressure on January 2nd was 163/98 with a BPM of 84. Today it was 121/73 with a BPM of 68. I’ve lost 59 pounds so far this year and a total of 79. I have lost 7 inches from my stomach and 5 from my chest. My blood sugar ranges from 65 – 85. I no longer sleep with my cpap and am as quiet as a mouse. I’m off all my Bipolar and heart medication. The only pill I take is HCL. I’m happy for once and feel pretty great. I haven’t had any episodes for a few months and have been able to stay out of the hospital. I still don’t know what has caused all those issues, but I know that eating 99.99% meat keeps my symptoms away. My cardiologist is happy with my weight loss, and my heart is as healthy as it’s ever been. She knows about my diet and is completely fine with it.

IMG_20170823_171937

6) What negatives have you found with the Carnivore Diet.

None really. I go out to eat, and people give me weird looks for not wanting sides. So I usually get the sides and give them to the people I am with. I rarely eat out though, so it doesn’t affect me much. I just prefer to make my food.

7) Do you exercise on the Carnivore Diet, if so how do you find it and what do you do.

I do not. I am going to start soon. I am now 1 pound away from being under 300 pounds and feel that I can exercise without feeling like I am dying now.

8) What piece of advice would you give someone who is interested in trying this diet, but hasn’t taken the leap yet.

Give it a solid 3 months. I didn’t stick to it, and it was horrible. It won’t work if you only do it half the time. I lost 0 pounds my first two weeks. It was beyond frustrating. I knew I had messed up my body, and it needed to heal. I stuck with it and then I lost 29 pounds the next two weeks. I don’t consider it a diet. I don’t starve myself like I did on my other diets. I eat until full and eat amazing food! If you give it a few weeks, it becomes very easy.  Read and research for yourself. There is lots of information available online. It will help you tremendously.

9) Do you think Carnivore will ever be accepted as a mainstream diet.

Sadly no, people have been told that meat is terrible and it’s going to take a lot to change that view. I ate like my old cardiologist wanted me to because it was heart healthy. Now I know that couldn’t be further from the truth. I still have brief moments of doubt. It’s hard to go against everything you have ever known, especially when your heart is involved. Luckily I have very supportive friends and family. They don’t eat like me, but they respect my lifestyle.

10) Anything you would like to add, and where can people follow your journey.

You can find me on Instagram @dino_the_carnivore and I am always available to talk or help with any questions you might have.

Carnivore Diet success stories – Mark

Interview with Mark

PhotoGrid_1549122747013

1) Introduce Yourself.

Hi, I’m Mark Hannigan and I’m a 1:1 diet consultant. After spending over 20 years fighting my weight & health issues I changed my life and career to help others.

2) How did you eat before Carnivore.

I grew up eating homemade foods as a child which quickly progressed into processed convenience foods as my brother and sister were born and it was easier for my mum. I carried on this way with bouts of ‘healthy’ eating throughout my life until I completely changed everything in 2015. After following a medically proven plan I lost 9 stone and reversed my Type 2 Diabetes, hypertension and sleep apnoea and then chose a ketogenic lifestyle to maintain my weight and health. I’ve now been carnivore for 14 months.

3) Why did you try Carnivore to begin with.

I was reading about carnivore more and more online through the keto communities and I was personally experiencing severe constipation several times a week and symptoms of inflammation with psoriasis on my scalp and face whenever I was eating fibrous greens and other plants. The more I read about people being relieved of these kinds of symptoms the more I was inclined to try carnivore. I always loved steak anyway, veggies not so much!

4) How do you personally approach the Carnivore Diet.

I keep it simple and eat meat, fish & eggs though predominantly beef when hungry and I don’t eat until I’m hungry again (usually once a day). Mostly rib-eye and sirloin steaks. I drink only water to thirst.

5) What benefits have you seen since starting the Carnivore Diet.

I’ve seen many benefits and constant improvements in my health as well as bodily functions etc

I was diagnosed as a child with a Neutrophil disorder which meant I had a very weakened immune system and almost died on several occasions because of a simple cold sore on my hand. I often experienced sepsis and secondary infections during hospital visits from what most people would fight off with a basic dose of antibiotics.

Improved physiology by gaining lean mass without training at all as well as perfect bowel movements and generally feel very energetic and massively increased libido. Here’s a list of all the illnesses and ailments I no longer suffer from:

Type 2 diabetes

Hypertension

Sleep apnoea

Constant abscesses in the groin and underarms

Neutrophil disorder

Psoriasis

Herpes Simplex

Otitis externa

Tinnitus

Depression

Aggression

Constipation

Bloating

Lowered libido

6) What negatives have you found with the Carnivore Diet.

Really none. I love eating meat and not having to count calories etc

7) Do you exercise on the Carnivore Diet, if so how do you find it and what do you do.

I now do a High Intensity (HIT) Strength training session every 5 to 7 days and find it great for keeping my lean tissue strong as well as improving my bone mass and overall strength. I carry out 1 set to failure and stick to compound exercises. This means my training is over within less than 15 minutes or so and I can get on with my life. Recovery with carnivore is amazing.

8) What piece of advice would you give someone who is interested in trying this diet, but hasn’t taken the leap yet.

Try it for 30 days, it’s only 30 days of your life and you may find that like so many others you keep adding another 30 days.

9) Do you think Carnivore will ever be accepted as a mainstream diet.

Ideally, it is I believe the way were are meant to live but I doubt it becoming the norm because sadly people are so addicted to their carbs and convenience foods, although what could be more convenient than cooking a steak in 5 minutes?

From a selfish point of view, I hope not because the cost of meat will soar!!

10) Anything you would like to add, and where can people follow your journey.

I can’t recommend this lifestyle enough to anyone who’s open to trying it out. It’s simplicity and freedom from the mental battle with food and the constant question of what, when and where to eat.
