Carnivore Diet success stories – with Tracy K

Interview with Tracy

1) Introduce Yourself.

Hi! I’m Tracy, a coach on Meatrx.com. I’m happily married with four adult children and eight grandchildren. I was not overweight as a child, but became overweight as an adult after having children. It wasn’t from having children that I became this way, but from all of the bad foods in the stores that I could never get satiated from while eating. We’ve been lied to about our foods and I’m on a mission to help people understand that it isn’t their fault, it is the money hungry companies and corporations that have brought these very nutrient poor foods to our stores so that they could make the bucks. Sad story.

2) How did you eat before Carnivore.

Before coming to the Carnivore lifestyle, I was on a Whole30 diet. It seemed good but did not help me in the long run. I tried many avenues, from Weight Watchers, to Green Smoothies, to Juicing and so much more to try to heal my body. Of course, before the diets, I did eat the standard American diet…SAD.

3) Why did you try Carnivore to begin with.

I read about the carnivore lifestyle on social media and also heard about it from a dear friend. I was appalled and could not imagine how anyone could survive on just meat alone. I thought surely that vegetables and fruits were a huge part of what was needed to get all of the essential vitamins and minerals. How could I have not known? Well, it’s not hard when the mainstream “health” peeps preach that meat is bad (NOT TRUE)  and vegetables are the most nutritious foods. (Nope) So I did not believe it could be possible at first, but then I began to take a closer look, research and listen to well educated people like Amber O’Hearn, Dr. Shawn Baker, Dr. Ken Berry and others. Then it started to make sense! I saw that it must be the real way to eat. We are fed so much fake garbage in our world, this was just one more area that we had been deceived about…our FOOD! Oh my!

4) How do you personally approach the Carnivore Diet.

After I researched the lifestyle of carnivore, some called it ZC or zero carb, I began to think on it and decided, yes, this is for me and it makes so much sense. Why shouldn’t I eat the most nutrient dense foods in the world? I should!!

So I jumped right in from the Whole30 diet…which had been turned into the Whole270! I was on that for 9 months. It allowed all real foods, vegetables, fruits, nuts, meats, seeds, etc. For me, I never wanted to believe that fruits were bad or that the sugar in them was bad. But let me tell you…sugar is sugar and it all reacts the same in the body. I had even read one doctor who thought that the fiber cancelled out the sugar…uh, no! That’s not true.

So I started out on carnivore quite easily. I did have a little of what many call “keto flu” in the beginning, but only to the point of being tired a lot which is very common. I was able to push through that and I had some bowel adjustments that occurred until I could get balanced out. It took probably about a month, but once I had followed this lifestyle for a single month…I was hooked! I knew it was what I had been searching for my entire life! It was working! And not only working, but working well! I could definitely feel the difference, not only because I was losing weight, but because I felt satiated, in control, no cravings, and the best part of all….I did not have to track anything! not weight, not calories, not macros, not WW points…nothing! I never liked tracking what went into my mouth and with this, I did not have to! Yay!!!

5) What benefits have you seen since starting the Carnivore Diet.

The benefits that I have noticed are that I feel satisfied with my food. It is very nourishing and leaves me feeling so content without wanting that next fix, like more sugar, or more carbs, another cupcake, or another bag of chips!

Another benefit is that I did lose some weight, 20#. I had lost some weight on each diet that I tried, but carnivore was by far the best! As it turns out, when you continue eating this way, your body just ends up balancing out and finding its best weight. No need to strain or strive, or struggle to get there, it just happens along with many other benefits. My b/p which was extremely high at one point (220/120) has now stabilized. I was able to eliminate my b/p medicines along my journey but couldn’t stop that last pill until carnivore. Within the first 3 months, my b/p began dropping and I was able to cut the pill in half, then in fourths, etc. It was miraculous in my eyes! Why didn’t the green smoothies work or the juicing? Well, it was all of that sugar in my system, all the time…even the fruits on the Whole30 diet. Plus, I learned about oxalates in the vegetables and fruits. Oxylates? What’s that? A doctor by the name of Sally Norton has tons of information on those! They are anti-nutrients that are in all plants. Some have more than others, but they are not good for the body! I kind of knew that when making green smoothies, because I learned that you had to rotate the greens. You could not always eat spinach, for instance, or you would begin to feel terrible. So rotating greens made for a different type of oxalate or anti-nutrient, like from chard for instance. Ick. Had I known what all I was doing to my body, I would have cried! Now I know. And I do not cry…it has helped my mental state SO much! I am able to cope with the day to day stresses with much more ease.

After 2018-2019

6) What negatives have you found with the Carnivore Diet.

The only negative that I have found is that when I tell others about the carnivore lifestyle, they don’t think I know what I am talking about. So I do not talk to family or friends all the time, but I just try to be an example to others and if they ask, I definitely speak up then! I want to see others receive the same, better and more benefits than I have! I’m very passionate about it!

7) Do you exercise on the Carnivore Diet, if so how do you find it and what do you do.

Yes, I do exercise, but only in the form of walking. I started fitbit walking a few years back and I have kept doing that. I usually walk at least 10,000 steps a day and many times 12,000 or more. I was doing 12,000 + steps a day until this January when I decided to scale back some and I want to begin to do other forms of exercise. I have been doing carnivore for almost 15 months, and I feel the need to do more weight lifting or other strength training exercises now.

8) What piece of advice would you give someone who is interested in trying this diet, but hasn’t taken the leap yet.

I think everyone gets to their “point in life” when they are tired of being sick and over weight. Some are just wanting to heal from arthritis, skin issues, depression, diabetes, high blood pressure, fatty liver disease, fibromyalgia or other autoimmune diseases. I say go for it! I have read so many success stories from eating the carnivore lifestyle that I am convinced it will help almost any poor health condition that anyone might have. Don’t hesitate. Do it now! Try it for at least 30 days, but even 90 days would be better and you will see such a huge improvement, it will blow you away!

9) Do you think Carnivore will ever be accepted as a mainstream diet.

I think that it could be if enough people were able to wake up and smell the coffee, so to speak. That is why there are those in the carnivore community that have a passion to tell others. We want health for all! Years ago, many years ago, this was the way to eat. There weren’t all of these human kibble foods around and there was just real food…beef, milk, cream, eggs, cheese, chickens. These were “normal” foods! Those generations were not sick and overweight as we are today in our world.
