The Ketogenic Diet Experiments: Very Low Calorie Diet – Day 2

Day 2 of my Ketogenic Diet experiment, of a very low calorie diet.

Start Weight – 13st1

Current Weight – 12st12

Daily Weight Loss/Gain – 3 pound lost

Total Weight Loss/Gain – 3 pound lost

Comsumed –

  • 500 calories from 3 meal shakes and 2 snack shakes from Islaverde.
  • 4 coffees with whole milk.
  • 1 Coke Zero.
  • 1.5l of water.

Comments – the taste of the shakes are pretty poor. So I could not face taking them 5 times throughout the day as instructed. So I took 2 shakes mixed in the morning, and 3 mixed at night. Also you have to mix them with warm water, it would be much more convenient if they mixed well with cold water. However I am not giving out Taste Awards, so the poor taste is just an observation not something that is overly important.

I went for a 6 miles run, and I did ok. I didn’t feel like I was overly inhibited by the very low calories. Although I did tire a bit in the last mile or so, so maybe I was.
