I have just had a nice chilled out week, as I felt a bit of a calf niggle the last time I ran the week before. I am probably a little ahead of schedule in my training for the races ahead. So I decided to take a running break, to hopefully avoid another calf injury. Fingers crossed this worked, as I am planning on going on a 3 hour MAF paced run tomorrow. The week off has really got me itching to get back out running. Sometimes a little break does you good I guess.


Apart from some walking, I just concentrated on yoga and some bodyweight training. Although I should have done a little more than I did. Doing just a small amount of Yoga every day is really benefitting me. I am doing a manageable amount, but still getting progressive benefits. I am going to apply this strategy to my strength work. I am going to do a little every day, which hopefully I will see the benefits of down the road. For example, I am not very good at pull-ups. So I am incorporating them into my daily life. I have a pull-up bar in the spare bedroom. So every time I pass the bedroom or go in it to get changed, I do 3 pull-ups. I do forget sometimes, but I will presumably get better at remembering the more I do it. Then in theory I will be able to slowly increase the amount of pull ups I do each time, and therefore each day.
