Barefoot and Butter: Running on Keto – Marathon Training 28th January to 3rd February 2017.

I love this quote from the legend that is Sir Rodger Bannister. I am not an elite athlete like he was, however I completely understand what he is saying. It’s easy to make excuses or simply not be interested in exercise; which is fine. However when you consistently exercise, I find you start to thrive on it. You feel happier, more positive and full of energy. Even though you are using a lot more energy. You can survive and live a happy life without exercise for sure; I am just not sure if your body can thrive without it. If your body isn’t thriving, then can your mind thrive? Everyone is different, but through running, yoga and meditation I am trying to create positive loops in my life. I believe if you bring negativity from your past into the present, you will only see the negative in people and situations, resulting in a future of negativity. This is a pretty strange way to want to live if you ask me.

Decent training week for me, but it was a busy week and it got in the way a bit. It could have been better, but it could have been worse, basically I did what I did and I am positive about it. The beginning of next week is pretty busy too socially, so I will need to make sure I get some exercise in when and where I can. Thankfully I have given myself plenty of time to train for my first marathon, but I need to be mindful that I don’t use that as an excuse to not put the training in now.

Food wise it was definitely a LCHF week for me and not a strict Keto week. Due to what I had on this week, it was easier to eat the same as my wife. So it involved more potatoes and starchy veg, than a keto diet would allow. All real food meals though, so nothing to fret over. I will probably be LCHF again over the start of the week, but will be back to strict keto from the middle of the week.
