I have had a really enjoyable week.

It started off on Saturday with a really nice run, along the Deerness Valley Way. http://www.thisisdurham.com/things-to-do/deerness-valley-way-railway-path-walking-and-cycling-route-p670131

I think I will spend the next couple of months on the route. It is 8.5 miles long, so out and back is 17 miles. For my first run I set my timer for 1 hour, and ran until it beeped. I then turned around, and ran home. So each weekend I will increase the timer by 6 minutes, meaning an extra 12 minutes of running. This will equate to roughly an extra mile each run, as I am still keeping my pace slow. As I still believe in the Maffetone Method (https://philmaffetone.com/what-is-the-maffetone-method/), and Barefoot/Minimalist running. Hopefully in a couple of months I will have ran the entire length there and back, then I can move onto another route.

From Monday through to Wednesday, the wife and I spent some time up in the Lake District. We stayed in a camping pod, for her birthday. The weather was very kind to us, and we got a couple of really nice walks in.

I decided against going for a run on Thursday or Friday, as my legs were sore from the walking. Also the last two times I went to the Lakes, I ran the day after I got back home. On both occasions, I pulled a calf. So I was not making that mistake again.
