2017 – a year for ketones, camping, and running.

I am nearly a year into my Low Carb High Fat diet, or the Ketogenic Diet if you will. So I will do a Keto anniversary post, after the 19th of January.

This post is more about my excitement of what is ahead in 2017, and hopefully it all goes to plan.

Eating – I am still a Low Carb advocate, so going into 2017 I will be eating a modified Ketogenic Diet. This will be based around real food, severely limiting my exposure to processed foods. However I am effectively in a maintenance mode, so I do have a bit of wiggle room for experimentation. So I could dabble in things like exogenous ketones and exercise aids.

Running – I have made some decent progress with my running, but I will have to ramp up the effort in 2017. With hopefully a minimum of 2 10k’s, 2 half marathons and 1 full marathon. With a 5 year plan of being a regular ultramarathon runner. I still believe in barefoot / minimalist running, but I don’t think I have found the right shoe/sandal yet.

Strength & Flexibility – I do need to do some serious work in this area. So I have found a book called Convict Conditioning, which is a progressive bodyweight training routine. So I am looking forward to that. I will also start with my Kettlebells again. Flexibility wise, I need to find a way to consistently do Yoga. I am going to start of with just 10 minutes a day, and see where it goes.

Leisure – I am hoping to get 5 or 6 camping trips in this year. Which usually involves a bit of walking and hiking, which will help towards my endurance. I am also going to make more of an effort to do more walking on my none running days. I have a habit of being too sedentary on my none running days.

Lets GO !!!
