I have kindly been sent a Beta Test pack for this new Ketogenic Sports Drink. I am really looking forward to testing it out, and reporting back to Limited Labs.
They are currently raising funds on https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/ketone-1-sports-drink#/ if you are interested.
I have been on a LCHF Ketogenic Diet for 10 months now. So I walk around in ketosis, so I don’t need help in my day to day life. So the key for this product to me, is can it help me with my running.
So I will be judging it on:
- Is there a noticeable performance improvement, mentally and physically.
- Is there a noticeable recovery improvement.
- Cost – if the answer to the above is yes, is the price relative to the benefits.
- Taste – no point running around the countryside with a bottle of chalky water is there. So it has to taste at least ok.
The “Ketogenic” ingredient in this sports drink is Beta Hydroxybutyrate. Which you will see versions of in other ketogenic products. These other products like Keto OS are very expensive, so it will be interesting to see what Ketone1 is priced at. I like how the product is zero carbs, and they use natural sweeteners and colours. The main sweetener in this is Stevia. I am not a fan of using any form of sweetener in my daily cooking, however I will make exceptions if it is in a running performance aid. As I will not be using them daily.
Looking forward to testing them out.
